When Getting Stabbed by a Hat Pin was a Real Danger
Seems like Manhattan is always getting more crowded so I was surprised to find out there were actually more people living here in 1910. This article says there are 12 people per square feet here now. Back in 1910 there were 21 people per 5,000 square feet. I guess that explains this crowd of people waiting for the M5 bus to come on Riverside Drive in 1918.
